Who We Are

The Maryland Workforce Alliance is the statewide organization of labor unions, non profits, and trade associations committed to promoting a world-class workforce in Maryland by helping to bridge the skills gap and address critical employment shortages in key fields. We strive to expand the development of registered youth apprenticeship programs, robust high school Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, and post-high school skills training in a wide range of industries.

What We Do

By uniting employers, unions, and nonprofit groups from a wide range of industries, MWA’s work ensures there is increased engagement in the development and execution of workforce skills training programs. Our efforts are targeted towards closing the skills gap, helping individuals access “earn as you learn” educational opportunities, increasing the number of skilled workers, and making the state more attractive to developing businesses that create jobs. Through outreach campaigns, we will encourage young people to utilize paid apprenticeships, CTE classes, skills training, and career paths that lead to high paying jobs.
